With five weeks into the new year we hope you are enjoying the challenge. Like any challenge there will be hurdles, stretching, and perhaps some straining. The goal is to take our relationship with God to a whole new level. For the first four weeks we have been warming up. I can hear you now – whaaaat?! Warming up? I’ve been challenged, and stretched! Well good.
Think of me as your personal “spiritual” trainer. A good personal trainer will push you because they know that your body can do more than you think it can. There will probably be some sweat involved, and times where we will be left breathless. But, at the end we will have a deeper, stronger, more vibrant relationship with God. Just the thought of that makes me want to dig in deeper.
So my friends, lets grab our pens, pencils, notebooks, bibles, and get ready to dig in deeper!
This week we are adding to our verse.
Week 5 verse: Ephesians 1:17-19.
“I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, I pray that the perception of your mind may be enlightened so you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the glorious riches of His inheritance among the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of His power to us who believe, according to the working of His vast strength.”
For within the two verses, as you write them, change every “you” to “me,” or “I.” Change every “our” and “your” to “my.” Each day we will pray this to our Heavenly Father.
Then, focus on Ps. 86:15
“But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in faithful love and truth.”
We will still work within our 16 minutes each day, but don’t be surprised if you find yourself captivated by God and spending more time with Him.
Work those spiritual muscles! Have a great week and be sure to document how God remains true to His word.
