What is Easter to you?
Is it bunny rabbits, baby chick’s, coloring eggs, and peeps candy?
For Christians around the globe it’s so much more. It is when Jesus Christ rose from the dead. The grave was conquered! When the promises of God sealed.
Easter for Christians is a new life, confidence in the living Christ, and proof of the power of God. His love for us in which he gave Jesus up. His one and only son to save us. Jn.3:16
This morning I finished reading the book of Nehemiah. His last words struck a chord in my heart
“Remember me, oh my God, for good.” Neh 13:31.
Isn’t that what we want? To be remembered. To know that someone has us in the forefront of their heart, and mind. They look out for us.
The last two words of the verse jumped off the page also, “for good.” Too often we remember only the bad things. I’m guilty of that at times. This weekend as I ask Jesus to “Remember me, for good.” I also ask He forget my sins, and help me to remember others – for good.
We are not alone in our request. There is another that also asked Jesus to remember him. On the day of His death there were three that were crucified. Jesus, along with two criminals. Lk. 23.
One made snide comments, taunting Him, as they both hung there. The other knowing who Jesus was asks him
“Remember me, when you come into your kingdom.” Lk.23:42
On this Easter weekend may we remember our sins He took with Him to the cross, and like one of the criminals that hung next to him ask “Remember me.” Lk. 23:42
“Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Lk.23:42
From my family, to yours have a Blessed, and Happy Easter! Remember He IS risen!
